Christopher A. Watson

Christopher A. Watson, Ph.D. (abd), is currently the Director of Planning and Development Services at Murphy Schiller & Wilkes LLP, where they apply over twenty years of professional experience in urban planning and development. They previously served as the City Planning Officer for the City of Newark from 2018 to 2022 and held the position of Director of Operations at Local 420, District Council 37, AFSCME from 2004 to 2018. Additionally, Christopher has contributed to academia as an adjunct professor at both the City University of New York and NJIT Hillier College of Architecture and Design since 2016 and 2023, respectively. Their educational background includes a Ph.D. in Urban Systems from Rutgers Graduate School of Education and a Master’s Degree in Urban Affairs and Planning from City University of New York.
