Licky Erastus

Licky Erastus, PHD has a strong background in the telecommunications industry, holding various senior roles throughout the years. From 2006 to 2012, Erastus worked at Telecom Namibia, where they managed and supported operational and technical systems. This involved developing, upgrading, and troubleshooting systems to ensure functionality and availability. Additionally, Erastus conducted business and systems analysis, identifying areas for development and managing their implementation. From 2012 to 2018, Erastus served as the Head of the IT Division at the Ministry of Safety & Security - Nampol, facing considerable challenges in this role. In 2018, Erastus joined Mobile Telecommunications Limited as the Chief Technology Officer, responsible for overseeing technological operations. Later, in 2019, Erastus was promoted to the position of Chief Executive Officer, a role they held until 2022. Currently, Erastus serves as the Managing Director at MTC Namibia, a position they started in March 2021. Overall, Erastus brings extensive experience and expertise in telecommunications and IT management to their work.

Licky Erastus, PhD, obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Informatics from the Namibia University of Science & Technology in 2019. Prior to this, they completed a Masters of Informatics at the Namibian University of Science and Technology from 2014 to 2016. Earlier, they earned a Bachelor of IT Honours in Business Computing from the Polytechnic of Namibia from 2010 to 2012. Additionally, Licky Erastus attended Stellenbosch University in 2011, completing a Management Development Programme in Business Administration and Management, and also received a Certificate in Project Management in 2009. Their education began with a Bachelor of IT in Computer Network and Systems Administration from the Polytechnic of Namibia, which they earned from 2004 to 2008.
