Carrie O'Connell

Carrie O'Connell is a Visiting Assistant Professor of Humanities specializing in Communication, Culture, and Media at Michigan Technological University since August 2023. O'Connell has held various academic positions, including Adjunct Faculty in Communication at Loyola University Chicago and in English at Purdue University Northwest, as well as other institutions. With a research background at the Center for Information Convergence and Strategy at SDSU, O'Connell focuses on social networks, emerging communication platforms, and the socio-cultural impacts of technology. O'Connell earned a Ph.D. in Communication and Media Studies from The University of Illinois at Chicago, along with advanced degrees in Mass Media Studies and English Literature from San Diego State University and Chapman University, respectively.
