David Hemmer

David Hemmer is a Professor of Mathematical Sciences and Dean of the College of Sciences and Arts at Michigan Technological University, a role held since July 2018 that entails oversight of nine academic departments, Army and Air Force ROTC, and the Rosza Center for the Performing Arts, managing a faculty of over 160 and an annual budget of approximately $25 million. Prior to this, David Hemmer served as a Professor and Department Chair at the University at Buffalo from August 2012 to June 2018, and as an Associate Professor of Mathematics at SUNY Buffalo from August 2007 to August 2012. David Hemmer began an academic career as an Assistant Professor of Mathematics at the University of Toledo from August 2003 to August 2007. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Mathematics from the University of Chicago (1996-2001) and a BA in Mathematics from Dartmouth College (1992-1996).
