Jay Meldrum, Sr. has extensive experience in engineering and academic leadership, currently serving as the Executive Director and Liaison for the Grand Traverse Area at Michigan Technological University since July 1997. Meldrum oversees the Keweenaw Research Center, managing over 30 engineering professionals and fostering collaboration in K-12 engagement, higher education, and community development. Previous roles include directing sustainability efforts for Michigan Tech and holding key positions at EG&G Structural Kinematics, Hewlett-Packard, and Cadillac Motor Car Division of General Motors. Meldrum holds a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan-Dearborn and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Kettering University.
