Nan Pond

Nan Pond currently serves as the VP of Nature-Based Research and Monitoring at Rubicon Carbon, a position held since April 2023, while simultaneously being an Adjunct Professor at Michigan Technological University since January 2016. Previously, Nan worked at NCX from June 2014 to March 2023 as the Director of Certification and Science Director of Forestry, focusing on carbon accounting and sustainable research. Prior experience includes roles as Chief Biometric Officer, Lead Biometrician, and Biometrician at Michigan Technological University from 2009 to 2014, where Nan specialized in constructing and validating imputation models for forest inventory. Educational credentials include a Ph.D. in Forest Biometrics and Silviculture from Michigan Technological University and a B.S. in Forest and Natural Resources Management from the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry. Additionally, Nan served as a Forestry Extension Agent for the United States Peace Corps from 2007 to 2009, conducting qualitative and quantitative research in northern hardwoods silviculture.
