Nathan Manser

Nathan Manser, PE, PhD, MBA, RPCV, is a Professor of Practice in Mining and Geological Engineering at Michigan Technological University since June 2015, where responsibilities include teaching courses on groundwater extraction, mining methodologies, environmental impacts, and mine design, in addition to serving as a faculty advisor for the Global Innovative Solutions Enterprise. Experience also includes roles as an instructor for the Society for Mining, Metallurgy & Exploration, and a special programs scientist at UNESCO-IHE, focusing on nitrogen removal from wastewater. Nathan's academic journey includes earning a PhD and MS in Environmental Engineering from the University of South Florida, a Graduate Certificate in Green Engineering and Sustainability, and an MBA from the University of Phoenix. Professional background encompasses various positions in the mining industry, including supervisor roles at Unimin Corporation and Granite Construction, alongside volunteer work in natural resource management with the Peace Corps.
