Sagar Patil

Sagar Patil, Ph.D., is a Research Engineer at Michigan Technological University, specializing in computational mechanics and advanced composite materials modeling for aerospace applications since September 2018. With a solid background in physics-informed materials development, Sagar has utilized DFT (VASP) during a postdoctoral role to explore the recyclability of polymerized Elium. The dissertation, titled "Molecular Modeling of High-performance Polymers," was conducted as part of graduate research at Michigan Technological University, where Sagar validated Reactive Interface Force Field for polymer property prediction and simulated the chemical reactivity of various polymers. Sagar also contributed as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, enhancing undergraduate engineering skills through hands-on training in Ansys. Sagar holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan Technological University, an MTech from the National Institute of Technology Surat, and a BEng from Rajarshi Shahu College of Engineering.
