Samantha Smith

Samantha Smith is a Research Scientist at JAG Consulting since August 2024 and serves as an Adjunct Assistant Professor and Assistant Professor of Human Factors and Psychology at Michigan Technological University from August 2019. Research focuses include sustained attention, dual-tasking, mental workload, fatigue, and cognitive demand of physical tasks, alongside teaching courses in cognitive psychology and environmental psychology. Prior experience includes serving as a National Research Council Postdoctoral Fellow at the Air Force Research Laboratory from November 2017 to August 2019 and as a Lecturer and Teaching Assistant at the University of Canterbury from February 2015 to September 2017. Additional roles include Human Factors Associate and Engineering Aide at Ball Aerospace, along with training in psychophysiological data techniques. Educational credentials comprise a Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of Canterbury and a Bachelor's Degree in Neuroscience and Psychology from Ohio Wesleyan University.
