Chie Watanabe

Chie Watanabe is a seasoned project management professional currently serving as the Head of Project Portfolio Management and Change Project Lead at MUFG since January 2019, focusing on post-merger integration and the LIBOR transition project. Prior to this, Chie worked at Deloitte UK from August 2012 to January 2019 as a Business Transformation Consultant, delivering strategic projects for global capital markets and retail banking clients, with a special emphasis on operations transformation and post-merger integration. Chie has notable experience in managing cross-border post-merger integrations, including a pivotal role in the merger of Idemitsu Ko-san and an Australian petroleum products distributor. Earlier roles include serving as a Product Manager in project finance at MUFG and as a research intern at Gerson Lehrman Group. Chie holds a Bachelor’s degree in Law and Political Science from Kyoto University and has studied International Relations and Affairs at Leiden University.
