Samir Bashir is an experienced finance and analytics professional, currently serving as the Head of Credit Strategies Group for Europe at MUFG since July 2019. Previously, Samir held the position of VP in Global Portfolio Analytics at the same firm. Prior to joining MUFG, Samir worked at BMO Financial Group from June 2013 to July 2019 as Senior Manager for Credit and Operational Risk Modelling & Analytics and as Manager of Operational Risk Capital & Analytics. Earlier experience includes a role as Senior Credit Risk Analyst at CIBC from March 2009 to April 2012, and a co-op position as an Application Developer at Sun Life Financial. Samir holds a Master of Science in Statistics from the University of Toronto (2012-2013) and an Honors Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Toronto (2004-2008).
