Tania Smith

Tania Smith is an accomplished legal professional with extensive experience in banking and regulatory affairs. Currently serving as the Head of Legal and Governance EMEA EU at MUFG and the Deputy General Counsel for EMEA, Tania oversees legal operations across multiple European regions. Previously, Tania held senior roles at ING Bank N.V. and LeasePlan, where responsibilities included structured finance and regulatory compliance. Tania began their legal career as an associate at Clifford Chance and Lavery, de Billy, specializing in securitization and environmental law, respectively. Tania holds an LLB and BCL from McGill University and has degrees in Comparative Literature and Liberal Arts.
