Michael has over 10 years of experience in electrical and control engineering for energy systems. He is the Director of Engineering at muGrid Analytics.
Focusing his entire education and professional career on renewable and distributed energy, Michael is a full-stack energy system engineer. At Dartmouth College, he hand-built solar cells and power converters and constructed hydroelectric plants in East Africa. As the first electrical engineer at Solaflect Energy, Michael helped develop a new concept in solar array tracking into an award-winning company ($2M in DOE SunShot Incubator 6 and 7). As the startup matured, Michael helped design, install, and maintain megawatts of solar plants. Later his published academic research on artificial intelligence for load forecasting directly benefitted muGrid’s optimal microgrid sizing and operation software.
Michael is a Ph.D. candidate at the Polytechnic University of Milan in Italy (Politecnico di Milano), where he also received an MS in Electrical Engineering for Smart Grids. His AB and BE in Engineering for Electrical Power and Control Systems are from Dartmouth College.
