Tom Loonen

Tom Loonen is a seasoned professional with over 33 years of experience in banking and investment, specializing in financial law and compliance. Currently, they serve as a Professor of Financial Law & Integrity at VU Amsterdam and as an expert judge in the Enterprise Chamber of the High Court Amsterdam. Tom is also an advisor at Pinsent Masons and a member of various boards, including MultiSafePay and the Advisory Board of Cito B.V. They have held various significant leadership roles in organizations focused on compliance, risk management, and corporate governance throughout their career. Tom holds multiple advanced degrees, including a PhD in Economics from the University of Amsterdam and a Master in Financial Law from Erasmus School of Law.
