Shannon Smith

Shannon Smith, PMHNP-BC, MPH, is a seasoned Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with extensive experience in mental health care, currently serving at the Portland VA Medical Center since January 2018, providing evidence-based psychiatric care and individualized treatment plans. Additionally, Shannon has worked with Multnomah County since September 2012, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to offer integrative care, including psychiatric assessments and medication management. Shannon's early career included roles as a Registered Nurse and psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner intern at various organizations, where a focus on at-risk youth and community-based care was paramount. Academic qualifications include a BSN and a Master's in Nursing from Oregon Health & Science University, an MPH from Portland State University, and a BA in Business Economics from UC Santa Barbara.
