Benjamin Sibanda

MD, MATO Division at Multotec

Born in Krugersdorp, raised in Pretoria and now residing in Kempton Park, Sibanda has been in his current position since March 2015. He worked his way up to Managing Director of MATO Division after proving himself more than apt as Inventory Clerk at Multotec, a role which was specifically developed to cater to the recommendations of the TUV ISO 2001 audit in 2006.

Sibanda serves both on the MATO Board and Multotec Executive Committee.

Currently expanding the footprint of MATO products beyond sub-Saharan countries, Sibanda’s product focus includes conveyor belt cleaners and lacing systems, as well as conveyor belt accessories, clamps and cutters. Qualifying with his N4 in Electrical Engineering in 1996 was only the beginning of Sibanda’s educational growth, and he continued to achieve various qualifications and accreditations. These include Production and Operations Management from Intec College (2003); Basics of Production & Inventory Management (2005) and Principles of Production & Inventory Management (2007), both from SAPICS; Management Fundamentals Supervision from Maccauvlei Learning Academy (2013); Leadership Development from GIBS Business School (2014); Management Development (2015); and Management Advancement Programme (MAP) from the University of the Witwatersrand (2019).
