Jim Kalbach has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Jim is currently serving as the Chief Evangelist at Mural, a position they have held since November 2020. Prior to this role, they worked at Mural as the VP of Customer Experience from March 2015 to November 2020.
In addition to their role at Mural, Jim is also the Co-founder and Principal of JTBD Toolkit since October 2020.
Jim's extensive experience in design, innovation, and strategy workshops began in 2008 when they became an Instructor at Design, Innovation and Strategy Workshops. Jim has conducted workshops worldwide, covering a wide range of topics such as experience mapping, customer journey mapping, strategy, and UX design. Jim has also authored several books on these subjects.
Before joining Mural and starting their own venture, Jim held various positions in different companies. Jim worked as a Principal Experience Design Consultant at Citrix Online from October 2012 to February 2015. Prior to that, they served as the Principal UX Strategist at USEEDS GmbH from September 2011 to September 2012. Jim also worked as an Experience Design Consultant at LexisNexis from April 2003 to August 2011.
Earlier in their career, Jim held the position of Head of Information Architecture at Razorfish Germany from February 2000 to March 2003. Jim started their professional journey as a Research Specialist at ID Media in September 1997 and also worked as a Usability Researcher at I-D Media AG during the same period.
Throughout their career, Jim Kalbach has been recognized for their expertise in experience design, innovation, and strategy. Their extensive work experience and contributions to the field make him a valuable asset to any organization.
Jim Kalbach attended Rutgers University from 1986 to 1990, where they pursued a double major in Communication and Music and obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree. Following this, they enrolled in the School of Graduate Studies at Rutgers University from 1992 to 1995, specializing in Music theory and composition and earning a Master of Arts degree. Jim furthered their education at Rutgers University, completing a Master of Library and Information Science degree in the field of Library and Information Science from 1995 to 1997.
