Nicholas Petera

Nicholas Petera has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Nicholas started their career as a Co-Founder of Midnight Customs, a custom design shop for guitars. Following this, they worked at CMMS Data Group as a Systems Integration specialist, where they traveled to client sites to integrate software and network configurations.

After that, Nicholas worked at Aptitive as a BI Consultant, leading the integration of two international JD Edwards systems into a SQL Server 2012 data warehouse. Nicholas then joined ZirMed as a Data Engineer, where they navigated medical datasets and built a custom internal data warehouse for reporting and metrics.

Nicholas later joined AHIMA as a Senior Data Architect and Manager of Business Intelligence, leading the association's initiative to modernize their data approach. Nicholas developed a custom-built data warehouse and centralized report to unite departmental data streams.

Nicholas then took a sabbatical to travel for a year, experiencing different cultures and cultivating professional networks. Upon their return, Nicholas worked at closerlook, inc. as a Data Architect, where they helped transition their data infrastructure to a fully managed cloud environment using Google Cloud services.

Currently, Nicholas holds the position of Senior Software Engineer, Data at MURAL.

Nicholas Petera attended Northern Illinois University from 2006 to 2011, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Operations Management & Information Systems.
