Ryan Nee

Ryan Nee has a diverse work experience ranging from design roles to teaching. Ryan has been working at Mural since 2021 and held various positions including Senior Product Designer, Lead Product Designer, Principal Product Designer, Director of Product Design, Personalization, and currently Director of Product Design, Engagement.

Prior to Mural, Ryan worked at LUMA Institute from 2015 to 2020 where they served as a Senior User Experience Designer and Senior User Experience Designer / Agile Product Owner. Ryan played a significant role in shaping the company's digital and physical products, with a focus on creating LUMA Workplace, an online resource for practicing Human-Centered Design.

From 2007 to 2015, Ryan worked at Markit (now Markit Digital) in different roles such as Designer, Senior Designer, Associate Creative Director, and Creative Director. Ryan led a team of designers and collaborated with clients in the financial services industry to solve various design problems.

Ryan also worked at the Rocky Mountain College of Art & Design as an Interaction Design Instructor (Adjunct) in 2011, where they co-taught a junior/senior-level Interaction Design class.

Before that, Ryan worked at Ellen Bruss Design as a Designer, developing branding and marketing materials for a wide range of clients.

In 2003, Ryan had a design internship at StillSecure, a network security software company, where they focused on effective communication of complicated software products.

Their early career includes working at Fine Print as a Designer, designing regional newspapers, books, and marketing collateral for political campaigns and non-profit organizations.

Overall, Ryan Nee has extensive experience in product design, user experience, teaching, and branding, with a focus on solving complex design problems and creating impactful design solutions.

Ryan Nee started their education in 2001 and completed it in 2005 at the Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design (RMCAD), where they obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Graphic Design and Interactive Media. In 2016, they pursued further education at Harvard Business School Online, earning a certificate in Disruptive Strategy with Clayton Christensen. Additionally, in July 2016, Ryan Nee obtained a certification as a Certified Practitioner of Human-Centered Design from the LUMA Institute.
