Christopher Olson

Christopher Olson is an experienced geologist and exploration executive with a diverse background in the oil and gas industry. Currently serving as Vice President of Global Exploration at Murphy Oil Corporation since April 2018, Olson has previously held leadership roles at Cobalt International Energy, including General Manager for US Gulf of Mexico and Mexico Exploration, as well as various positions such as Strategy and Planning Lead and Senior Exploration Geologist. Prior experience includes significant roles at Krescent Energy Company, Hess Corporation, and Anadarko Petroleum, where responsibilities encompassed exploration management in regions such as the Eastern Gulf Coast and international projects in the Middle East and Indonesia. Olson holds a Master of Science in Geology from Texas A&M University and a Bachelor of Arts in Geology from Colgate University.
