Stan Stanbrook

Stan Stanbrook serves as a Global Advisor in Sedimentology and Stratigraphy at Murphy Oil since July 2018, providing expert guidance for projects in New Ventures, Exploration, and Development across various regions including Malaysia, Australia, Vietnam, the US Gulf of Mexico, Mexico, and Brazil. Previously, Stan worked as a New Ventures Geologist and Subject Matter Expert at Murphy Oil Malaysia from January 2015 to June 2018, where regional evaluations in Southeast Asia and project support activities were key responsibilities. Prior experience includes a Senior Geologist role at Maersk Oil, conducting studies and managing multi-disciplinary teams, and a Senior Geoscientist position at Nautilus, focusing on deep-water clastic courses. Academic qualifications include a PhD in Turbidite Sedimentology from Heriot-Watt University and a BSc in Geology from the University of Bedfordshire.
