Patrick Murphy has a diverse work experience in various roles within the media and advertising industry. Patrick is currently a member of Vistage Portugal since August 2021. Prior to that, they founded and served as the CEO of MCA (MurphyCobb) since January 2006. From 1988 to 2020, they worked as a radio presenter for multiple companies including Radio Jackie, Thames Radio, Win FM, Swan FM, AFN Frankfurt, BBC Brighton, Ocean, and Chiltern. Patrick also served as the COO of Adstream Europe from January 2003 to October 2005. Before that, they were the Director of Broadcast at Leo Burnett London from January 2001 to January 2003. Patrick also held the position of Global Advertising Production Manager at Procter & Gamble from January 1998 to January 2001. Additionally, they were the Director of Broadcast at Partners BDDH from 1995 to 2000. Prior to that, they worked as a TV Producer at Leo Burnett Frankfurt from 1990 to 1995, JWT Paris in 1990, and JWT London from 1988 to 1990.

Patrick Murphy attended Seaford College from 1978 to 1980, but there is no information regarding the degree or field of study obtained at this institution. Patrick later attended Kent University, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree (BA Hons) in Photography Film & Television. In terms of additional certifications, Patrick completed various courses through Lynda.com, including "Exploring Composition in Photography," "Foundations of Photography: Lenses," "Foundations of Photography: Exposure," "Introduction to Photography," "Sony Alpha a7: Tips and Techniques," and "Becci Manson, Retouching and Restoring."
