Museum Crafters removes the traditional knowledge barriers that keep communities from opening sustainable children's museums and play spaces.
The Problem We Solve: Communities across America want children's museums and spaces that promote hands on learning. But when they consult experts, they hear that children’s museums can cost anywhere from $5M to $20M. We've proven there's a better way.
Our Approach: With decades of operational experience (not just design experience), we focus on financial sustainability from day one. We've opened more nonprofit children's museum locations than anyone else in the U.S., not by spending millions, but by spending smarter.
Our Track Record:
•	Children's Museum of Richmond (VA): First in the nation to open multiple satellite locations; named 4th best financially managed museum in America by Charity Navigator
•	EdVenture (Columbia, SC): Eliminated 12 years of accumulated debt in a 100,000 sq ft facility while renovating multiple spaces and merging with another children’s museum
•	Children's Museum of the Lowcountry (Charleston): Delivered a complete renovation for what had been spent on design fees alone
What Makes Us Different:
•	Combine extensive operational and design expertise together to give clients a fuller perspective on their project
•	Focus on what works in a children’s museum environment, not what looks good in marketing materials and works on paper
•	Laser focused on costs that make projects achievable for real communities
Our Mission: More children in more communities should grow up with access to places that spark curiosity, creativity, and lifelong learning. We make that possible.
