Kelly Reidy

Creative Associate and Tour Guide at Museum Hack

Kelly Reidy began their work experience in 2005 as a Supplemental Instruction Leader and Teaching Assistant at American University. From 2006 to 2012, they worked as a Graduate Assistant at Kent State University. In 2011, they joined the American Physical Society (APS Physics): Forum on Graduate Student Affairs, serving as Secretary from 2011 to 2012 and Member-at-Large from 2013 to 2013. In 2013, they became an Adjunct Assistant Professor at City University of New York, where they worked until 2016. In 2014, they joined Museum Hack as a Creative Associate and Tour Guide. From 2015 to 2015, they worked as an Event Coordinator at the National Museum of Mathematics. In 2015, they also became a Visiting Assistant Professor at PRATT Institute. Most recently, in 2020, they joined Atlas Obscura as the Host and writer of "Accidental Discoveries," where they researched, wrote, and performed weekly talks on accidental discoveries in various fields. Kelly'srole at Atlas Obscura ended in 2021.

Kelly Reidy earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Physics and Audio Technology from American University in the years 2002 to 2006. Following this, Kelly pursued a Ph.D. at Kent State University, specializing in Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics from 2006 to 2014.
