Music & Light is a student-founded nonprofit that uses the power of live music to serve communities often left out of musical experiences. Founded by high school musicians who saw firsthand how performance can move and connect people, we organize concerts at local retirement homes, raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer's and dementia research, and expand access to instruments and instruction for children in under-resourced communities. By rotating our focus across these three causes throughout the year, we channel music into building connection across generations, easing isolation for those who feel forgotten, and giving young people the chance to pursue their musical dreams regardless of their family's financial means.
