Rex Pravin

Rex Pravin serves as the Director of Engineering for SRE/Automation at MX, a role commenced in April 2024, after an extensive career at PayPal from October 2007 to April 2024, where notable positions included Senior Engineering Manager and Manager of SRE Triage Engineering. At PayPal, Rex successfully spearheaded significant team expansions, directed improvements in site reliability, and introduced innovative automated tools that enhanced incident response and operational efficiency. Key achievements include achieving a 48% increase in high availability days, overseeing the migration to a hybrid cloud environment, and winning the Technology Innovation Award in 2017. Prior to PayPal, Rex held engineering roles at DXC Technology and Cognizant, demonstrating a consistent focus on quality assurance and software testing. Rex holds an MSc in Physics from Loyola College Chennai.
