Joris Laarman is the co-founder of MX3D (2015–Present) and the director of Joris Laarman Lab (2003–Present). MX3D was founded from lab experiments with welding robots and software to control them, leading to sculptural stainless steel “dragon benches” and growth as a global leader in WAAM. Over two decades, Laarman's work has entered the collections of museums worldwide and earned several awards, including the Wall Street Journal Innovator of the Year Award (2011) and the STARTS Prize (2018).
