Loïc DERRIEN

Loïc Derrien has a diverse work experience in the fields of robotics, mechatronics, and engineering. Loïc is currently working as a Robotics/Software Engineer at MX3D since 2022. Prior to this, Loïc worked at STÄUBLI as a Mechatronics Engineer in the Robotics R&D department from February 2022 to November 2022.

From August 2019 to February 2022, Loïc worked at Liebherr Container Cranes Ltd. as a Mechanical/Mechatronics/Simulation Engineer in the R&D Department (Ireland). Loïc was responsible for developing "digital twin" simulation models using Matlab/Simulink/Simscape Multibody software and optimizing new designs before physical prototyping.

In 2018, Loïc gained experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer Intern at Liebherr Group, where they successfully carried out a project in the Customer Specific Request department, building a new method to simplify and automate the study of hydraulic shovels' motions using CAD software and VBA macros.

Loïc also has experience as a Gliding Club Volunteer and Flight Training for Les Planeurs d'Orléans in 2017, where they operated a glider winch, performed maintenance, and logged solo flight time.

Furthermore, they have worked as a Receptionist at DS Automobiles during the Paris Motor Show in 2016 and completed an Aeronautics Maintenance Internship at DGA - Direction générale de l'armement (French Military Procurement Agency) in the same year.

Loïc Derrien completed their Master's degree in Mechanical Design Engineering & Mechatronics at the Université de Technologie de Compiègne (UTC) from 2017 to 2020. Prior to that, they briefly studied Aerospace and Aeronautical Engineering at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid in 2017 and at the Ecole Supérieure des Techniques Aéronautiques et de Construction Automobile from 2015 to 2016. Before pursuing these fields, Loïc attended Lycée Thiers in Marseille, France from 2014 to 2015, which focused on a CPGE curriculum. Loïc received their High School Diploma from Lycée Marie Pila in Carpentras, France in 2014. Loïc also spent a year at Lycée Claudel in Ottawa, Canada from 2012 to 2013 for their high school education.
