Jay Walsh serves as the Vice President for Economic Development and Innovation at the University of Illinois System since May 2020, and has a long-standing affiliation with Argonne National Laboratory as a member of the Board of Governors since February 2008. In addition to leadership roles at the Chicago Council on Science and Technology (C2ST) and MxD, Jay Walsh has been involved with various boards including Current and Vanderbilt University's School of Engineering. Previously, Jay Walsh held positions as Senior Advisor to the President for Research and Science and Vice President for Research at Northwestern University, also contributing to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Sponsored Research Visiting Committee. Education includes a BS, MS, and PhD in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and Medical Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
