Patrick Howerter is the CEO of My Data Outlet. Prior to this, they worked as a quantitative developer at Charles Schwab from August 2014 to March 2017. There, they designed and coded software to transition department runing production models in R. This included an ETL package that downloaded QA Direct Data into an organized and cataloged R database, leveraged multi-core processing, and wrote the QA Direct stored procedures to download the data. Patrick also wrote scheduler utilities to automate the process, security mapping logic that enhances QA Direct’s historical security mapping tables, and created a smoothed time-series of security mapping across vendors. In addition, they added logic that goes from issuer to security to fill in gaps of coverage, core functions that line up accounting, estimates and pricing data by a "point-in-time" day, and a backtesting package that analyzes factors and measures the performance of factors and models. Patrick also developed an input validation package that tests the input data by comparing the current update with historical updates, as well as a test harness for all internally packaged functions by utilizing R's testthat package. For output, they utilized R's flexdashboard package to write results to html. Patrick was also responsible for the setup and maintenance of the R-Studio Server Pro servers (Linux) that existed in a virtual server environment. Furthermore, they developed a near “bullet-proof” versioning control by building all R code as internal packages and tied out all 120 internal factors between FactSet's Universal Screen and R/QA Direct with correlations of
