I am a storyteller, a bit of a romantic in the sense that I still believe that good stories need to be told, written, and read by humans. Stories are the backbone of modern civilization and are essential to pass on wisdom, create empathy, share emotions, unburden ourselves, find healing, give shelflife to legacy, and add to the historical collective of humanity. 
From Jesus's parables to Aesop's fables, stories teach morality, display dignity, find connection, touch hearts, and open minds like a powerful wand, offering healing to the reader and author. 
Shakespeare urged us to give words to our sorrows to keep our hearts from breaking, while D.H. Lawrence said that we shed our sickness in books.
