James Schmidt, Ph.D., CHC, is a seasoned healthcare compliance executive with over 15 years of leadership experience in behavioral health, outpatient, residential, and school-based healthcare. They currently serve as the Director of Compliance and Accreditation at Canopy Children's Solutions and as a Behavioral Health Research Consultant for the United States Department of the Army, focusing on enhancing behavioral health integration within the Army’s Transition Assistance Program. James has previously managed compliance operations at Vertava Health and held various positions that enriched their expertise in Joint Commission readiness, policy governance, and risk management. They earned a Ph.D. in Transformative Social Change and an M.A. in Counseling Psychology, contributing to a robust foundation in both clinical and administrative domains.
