Cliff P. Connery is a retired thoracic surgeon and former chair of the cancer institute, with extensive leadership experience in oncology. They served as Associate Chair for the Oncology Service Line and Senior Vice President at Nuvance Health from 2020 to 2021. Prior to that, Connery was the Medical Director of the Dyson Center for Cancer Care and Chairman of the Institutional Review Board at Vassar Brothers Medical Center from 2014 to 2021. They also directed the Comprehensive Thoracic Oncology Program and led the Division of Thoracic Surgery at St. Luke's and Roosevelt Hospital, as well as Beth Israel Medical Center from 1992 to 2014. Currently, they work as a Senior Physician Advisor at MyCareGorithm, a role they have held since 2023. Connery earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from William & Mary, followed by a Doctor of Medicine degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School, and completed residency in General Surgery and Thoracic Surgery.
