Humanity’s future depends on rapid decarbonisation. So why is accessing emissions data still such a pain in the neck?

With precious time running out to slash emissions, companies need friction-free access to carbon accounting data, so they can act sustainably, based on reality. It’s not happening yet: until now this crucial sector has run on technology decades behind the curve, with emissions data scattered across thousands of hard-to access sources. Companies seeking ethical suppliers have to negotiate paywalls and dig manually through databases to find incomplete information, shored up by guess-work. It’s not the revolution we need.

--Democratising emissions data--
Mycelium is the world’s first open-source, worldwide emissions database. Using AI we collect top-level emissions data from thousands of companies, organising it all into a single master network. At no charge, any business with emissions data can become part of Mycelium, receive a confidence score and become searchable by users seeking sustainable suppliers. Our unique API allows direct interface with Mycelium data, so client apps can run seamlessly from a constantly updating central source. Low-volume users are free to search Mycelium for the best performing low-carbon suppliers, while corporate subscribers plug right in for continual access to up-to-the minute sustainability data.

--Data must flow--
The field of carbon accounting is about to catch fire – it has to, if we’re to achieve the emissions targets we need to secure a liveable planet. Mycelium was created with the aim of catalysing that process – sidestepping the massive drag factor of outdated retrieval methods, and allowing users to plug directly into the source. We’re eliminating unnecessary resistance from this system; facilitating the dynamic, real-time flow of data needed to drive the decarbonisation of the world’s businesses.
