MycoFutures™ is a next-generation biomaterials innovation and cleantech startup developing a circular, high-performance material grown from mycelium, the root-like network of fungi.

Founded by multidisciplinary founders, MycoFutures™ leverages deep biological expertise and applied materials science to create sustainable alternatives to conventional leather and plastic-based synthetics. Our proprietary mycelium material, Myco™, is designed to meet the aesthetic, durability, and performance needs of real commercial applications, without the environmental cost of traditional materials.

The leather industry is resource-intensive and chemically heavy, while many “vegan” alternatives rely on fossil-fuel-based plastics. MycoFutures™ exists to change that trajectory. By harnessing the natural complexity of mycelium and a circular production model, we are building materials aligned with UN Sustainable Development Goal 12: Responsible Consumption and Production.

Our initial go-to-market focus is on eco-luxury hospitality and in-room applications, where durability, design, traceability, and sustainability must coexist. We work closely with brands, designers, and partners across hospitality, fashion, and adjacent industries to bring next-generation materials from lab to market—thoughtfully and responsibly.

Based in Montreal, MycoFutures™ has been recognized by media and ecosystem partners in innovation, circularity and sustainable fashion. We are supported by leading innovation and entrepreneurship programs including MaRS, Cycle Momentum, SheBoot, and Creative Destruction Lab.
