David Akers

David Akers is a strategic communications and sustainability expert with over twenty years of experience in investor relations, corporate affairs, and corporate development. Currently serving as the General Manager of Investor Relations at MYER and holding leadership roles such as Chair of the Australasian Investor Relations Association’s ESG and Sustainability Committee, Akers is deeply engaged in various sectors including agriculture, consumer, food and beverage, and infrastructure. Previously, Akers has held key positions at Coca-Cola Amatil, GrainCorp, and Prime Infrastructure, advising boards and executive teams on global industry dynamics. Akers is also a member of the IFRS Sustainability Reference Group and has presented at numerous industry conferences. Akers is pursuing a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and holds dual bachelor's degrees in Public Relations and International Relations from Curtin University of Technology.
