Mark Bures is currently the Vice President of Finance at myKaarma, a VC-backed SaaS provider of customer interaction management software to the automotive industry. In this role, Mark is responsible for overseeing accounting, finance, and legal reporting to the CEO and board.

Prior to joining myKaarma, Mark served as the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis at EVgo, a PE-backed technology and transportation company constructing and operating the nation’s largest public electric vehicle fast charging network. As a member of the senior leadership team at EVgo, Mark was responsible for restructuring the FP&A department by implanting core processes and standardizing financial views. Mark also created a rolling 13-week cashflow forecast that was updated weekly to provide constant visibility of liquidity. In addition, Mark built an integrated financial model to allow for comprehensive financial planning linking P&L, balance sheet, and indirect and direct cashflows based on GAAP.

During their time at EVgo, Mark was able to save substantial gross profit by demonstrating the profitability of major ongoing partnerships and reversing the decision to put them on hold. Mark also identified revenue leakage from errant customer behavior and proposed changes to end it. In addition, Mark produced monthly reporting packages with MD&A, KPIs, and supporting analyses to explain trends and variances. Mark also assisted with two financial audits and acquisition due diligence.

Mark has a proven track record of success in both finance and accounting roles. Mark is a strategic thinker who is able to see the big picture and identify opportunities for growth. Mark is a strong communicator who is able to effectively present complex financial information to both internal and external stakeholders.
