Roy Smith

Roy Smith's work experience begins with their role as Managing Director at MZ Group, starting in 2023. MZ North America is the US division of MZ Group and provides full-scale investor relations services. Prior to this, they worked as a Principal at Class VI New River Fund from 2016 to 2023, focusing on long/short equity strategies. From 2011 to 2015, Roy was the Managing Principal at Bardin Hill Investment Partners (formerly Halcyon Asset Management), where they launched the Halcyon Agilis long/short equity fund. Before that, they served as the Co-Research Team Leader at Friess Associates from 2008 to 2011, managing an equity analyst team. Roy's experience also includes roles as a Principal and Co-Portfolio Manager at Pequot Capital from 2005 to 2008, where they launched two funds under the Emerging Managers' Fund strategy. Prior to that, they were a Managing Director of Institutional Equity Sales at Wells Fargo (formerly Wachovia Securities) from 1999 to 2005, and a Vice President of Institutional Equity Sales at Alex Brown & Sons Inc. from 1995 to 1999. Roy's earliest work experience was as a Vice President of Corporate Lending at M&T Bank's Maryland Division from 1990 to 1995.
