Henk Aarts

Henk Aarts has a diverse work experience in the agricultural industry. Henk began their career as a Business Consultant at Q-ray in 2007, where they specialized in information management consultancy and developed customized software applications for companies in supply chains related to agriculture, food, feed, and flowers. In 2012, they joined Tradle as a Commercial Director, focusing on chain performance and tracking and tracing systems in agrofood chains. Henk provided support to producers, traders, and other related companies through Tradle's Fresh Quality Management platform. Since 2017, Henk has been working at N2 Applied as the Business Development Director for Europe. N2 Applied aims to improve global food production by enabling livestock farmers to produce their own fertilizer from manure, air, and renewable energy. Henk's responsibilities involve promoting and implementing N2 Applied's technology, which uses a plasma reactor to fix nitrogen from the air and add it to manure or biogas digestate, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and nutrient losses. Henk's ultimate goal is to replace chemical fertilizers with locally produced alternatives.

Henk Aarts earned their MSc in Animal Sciences from Wageningen University in The Netherlands, where they studied from 1983 to 1989. Henk later pursued further education in 2013 and 2014 at Erasmus University Rotterdam, also in The Netherlands, where they obtained a degree in ISAM Strategic Account Management. Prior to their university studies, Henk attended Peelland College Deurne in The Netherlands from 1977 to 1983.
