Joey Smith

Joey Smith serves as the Public Health Director for the Montgomery County Health Department at the Tennessee Department of Health, overseeing public health services and activities in one of Tennessee's largest non-metropolitan counties since February 2000. In addition to this role, Joey holds positions on the Board of Directors for the National Association for City and County Health Officials (NACCHO), and as a Board of Examiners for the Tennessee Center for Performance Excellence. Joey is also an Advisory Board Member for the School of Nursing at Austin Peay State University and previously chaired the Board of Directors for the Clarksville Montgomery County Community Health Foundation. Educational credentials include a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Geography from Austin Peay State University, a Certificate in Risk Communication from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, an Associate of Arts from the University of Kentucky, and various executive and graduate-level certificates in communication and business excellence from The Wharton School, MIT Sloan School of Management, and Vanderbilt University.
