Deborah Pierce has extensive experience in international education, serving as Vice President for Education & Professional Development at NAFSA: Association of International Educators since 1986, where oversight included the planning of training programs and management of Annual Conference Committees. From May 2016 to December 2019, Deborah worked as an Associate Consultant at Ruffalo Noel Levitz, focusing on international enrollment management and student retention strategies. Additionally, as Principal at IECompass, valuable consulting was provided on comprehensive internationalization in higher education. Deborah held the position of Associate Vice President and Associate Provost for International Programs at Northern Illinois University from August 2002 until retirement in May 2015. Deborah holds a Ph.D. in Linguistics from the University of Michigan and a B.A. in French Language and Literature from Michigan State University.
