Ben Johnston

Ben Johnston is an experienced credit analyst currently working at the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) since March 2019, where roles have included Credit Analyst I, Senior Research Associate, and Research Associate. Prior to this, Ben served as a Research Associate at NAIC from January 2018 to January 2019 and completed an internship as a Securities Valuation Intern at NAIC from May 2017 to August 2017. Responsibilities throughout these positions have involved analyzing the creditworthiness and legal structures of investment grade and speculative grade private placements, as well as recommending NAIC credit quality designations and authoring credit reports. Ben holds a Master of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, obtained between January 2021 and July 2023, and earned a degree from The University of Kansas from 2013 to 2017.
