Brian Powell, MBA, CPM, serves as a Catastrophe Risk Mitigation Advisor at the National Association of Insurance Commissioners. Previously, Brian held roles including Director of the Office of Risk and Resilience for the State of Alabama and Director of the Strengthen Alabama Homes Program at the Alabama Department of Insurance. Brian has extensive experience in risk management and resilience, having also served as Director of the Mitigation Resources Division and Insurance Analyst Manager. Brian is currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Government and a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Management at Troy University, alongside a Certified Public Manager designation from Auburn University at Montgomery.
