Umberto Serrano

Umberto Serrano is a seasoned finance professional with extensive experience in credit analysis and structured finance. Currently serving as a Senior Credit Analyst at the National Association of Insurance Commissioners since 2015, Umberto issues credit opinions on investments made by insurance companies in the U.S. Previously, Umberto held key positions at UniCredit Bank AG as Director and Group Head of the Corporate Credit Team, managing a team of Credit Analysts, and at CANARAS CAPITAL MANAGEMENT, LLC as a Senior Credit Analyst, leading negotiations for CLOs and executing transactions in the Oil & Gas and Power sectors. Umberto's background also includes a notable tenure at Standard & Poor's Ratings Services, where as Director of the Structured Finance CLO/CDO Group, Umberto was the lead analyst on numerous structured finance transactions. With initial experience at Morgan Stanley in the Oil & Gas Corporate Finance Group, Umberto has a robust academic foundation, holding an MBA in Finance/Accounting from Columbia Business School, a Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School, and a Bachelor's Degree from Columbia University.
