Eric Schmutz

Eric Schmutz currently serves as the Senior Director of Federal Affairs at NAIOP, a position held since February 2023. Prior to this role, Eric was the Principal at Great Point Strategies, focusing on federal and state government relations consulting from December 2016 to March 2023. Eric's extensive experience in government relations includes a significant tenure with the U.S. House of Representatives, where responsibilities as Deputy Chief of Staff and Legislative Director were managed from January 2009 to November 2016. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Kansas State University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Maryland Global Campus.
