Joke Aerts has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies. Starting in 2004, they worked as a Marketing & Communications Assistant at Ingenico. In 2005, they took on the role of PR Manager Benelux at Open2Europe, where they were responsible for driving awareness and visibility of customers' solutions. Joke left this role to go traveling for 9 months.

In 2006, Joke joined Zetes as a Product Marketing Executive, where they focused on marketing communication strategies and coordinated with country organizations across EMEA. Later on, they went on to pursue a Master na Master degree in Multilingual Business Communication at Ghent University from 2002 to 2004. Additionally, they also earned a DESS degree in Langues Etrangères Appliquées from Université Paris-Sorbonne in 2004. Joke Aerts's education has focused on languages and communication, with a special emphasis on Germanic languages, business communication, and applied foreign languages.
