Sharon Johnson

Sharon Johnson serves as the Executive Director at Bellwethers Group, focusing on long-term leadership for transformative climate action since January 2024. Additionally, Sharon holds advisory and board roles at the Graça Machel Trust and Namati, and founded and leads Liberty Marketing and Innovation Limited, a consulting firm dedicated to collaborative missions. Previous positions include Executive Director at Public Affairs & Strategic Communications, Director of Strategic Communications and Engagement at Global Optimism, and Director of Programmes & Partnerships at The NewNow. Sharon's experience also encompasses strategic roles with the Wildlife Justice Commission and The Elders Foundation, where key initiatives included securing funding and amplifying community voices. Sharon received BA Hons and MA degrees in Industrial Psychology and English from the University of the Witwatersrand.
