Ron Honberg is a seasoned mental health advocate and consultant who served as the Director of Policy and Legal Affairs at NAMI from 1988 to 2019, directing advocacy work on public policy issues affecting individuals with serious mental illness and their families. With over 30 years of experience in the mental health and developmental disabilities sectors, Ron has worked as a social worker, rehabilitation counselor, lawyer, and policy advocate. Educationally, Ron earned a Bachelor of Arts in History from Monmouth University and a Juris Doctor from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law. After retiring in 2019, Ron continues to contribute to the field through consulting and volunteer work.
