Michael Cathie

CEO, Nando's South Africa at Nando's

Michael Cathie is the current CEO of Nando's South Africa. Prior to this, they worked as the Chief Strategy Officer at Young & Rubicam from August 2011 to September 2012, and Commercial Director at AVI Limited from July 2010 to July 2011. Michael also worked as the Category Director for Middle East and Africa at Cadbury plc. from January 2010 to June 2010. Michael has extensive experience in sales and marketing, and has a proven track record in driving return to commercially sound business practices. Michael is a highly qualified brand and strategy professional, and is passionate about ensuring that clients' brands are managed in the most effective and responsible manner possible.

Michael Cathie's educational background includes a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a strategy specialism from Edinburgh Business School at Heriot-Watt University, as well as an MBA in general management from the same school. Michael also holds a certificate in marketing and business leadership from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management, and has completed management programs at Wits Business School and IMM Graduate School. Their undergraduate degree is in marketing from the University of Johannesburg. Michael is also certified as a Sirdar from the Applied Directorship Programme.
