Vikram Badhwar

Vikram Badhwar is the Group Head of Operations Technology at Nando's. Vikram has been with the company since September 2015 and in their current role since May 2022.

Badhwar is responsible for driving innovation and leveraging cutting edge technologies to improve efficiency and consumer relevance globally. Vikram has supported the tactical COVID-19 technology response across Nando's, including the rollout of virtual queuing, order at table, kerbside pick-up and third party delivery aggregator integration that has enabled markets to reopen effectively with social distancing restrictions.

Badhwar has also managed a strategic external review of Nando's digital CX across its four major markets and an internal capability assessment that will shape Nando's global technology strategy and operating model. Vikram has initiated and secured funding to be the lead partner with a robotics start-up on automated frying, side dispensing and off-premise order packing. In addition, they have developed and embedded machine learning demand planning solutions across all Nando's major markets to better deploy labour, reduce waste and manage capacity more effectively. Forecast error has been reduced by as much as 45%.

Badhwar is also responsible for all technology elements of the global Labour programme across Nando's including scheduling tool selection, demand forecasting, automating T&M and reporting. Vikram has worked with multiple partners to develop solutions to improve off-premise order accuracy, such as item / bag labelling and computer vision tracking of item production and bagging. Vikram is the product owner of KitchenFlow, a joint venture with a tech start-up that includes custom kitchen display screens, customer order status displays, customer/rider check-in, lockers, labelling and real-time computer vision order tracking.

Vikram Badhwar reports to Rob Papps, Group CEO. They work with Lachlan George - Group Chief Information Security Officer, Michael Cathie - CEO, Nando's South Africa, and Colin Hill - CEO, Nando's UK & IRE.
